fishermatt
I'm installing a 45K BTU Hot Dawg heater in my cabin, and the directions don't specify how to wire the thermostat. Do I just connect the thermostat's wires to the black and white wires of the heater unit, the same as I'll connect the incoming power to? Thanks. crothmeier
there should be a few screws by the electrical panel that the thermostat wires would hook up to. I used to sell these, but cant exactly remember how they hook up. it used to say in the owners manual, otherwise call the customer service # on the manual, they are real good at helping out.You will have to get thermostat wire to go from the thermostat to the unit, it will be more than 2 wires
acman2u
No! Do not hook thermostat to line voltage. Inside the panel you will find a terminal strip for connecting thermostat, you will be most likely looking for terminals R and W, those go to r and a on your stat. fishermatt
Thanks Greg. I see on the wiring diagram where there's an R and a W for "Low Volt Therm". That must be the place? Should there be only 2 wires? It's a "heating only" thermostat.
acman2u
Sorry, R and W on the stat, finger slipped.
acman2u
Yes, 2 wires unless you have a G terminal on the stat and hot dawg to run the fan only, usually a feature no one uses.
