U.S Pond Hockey Championship

Is anyone planning on checking out the pond hockey event this weekend? I beleive it starts today and runs through Sunday on Excelsior Bay of Lake Minnetonka. I was by there yesterday and it looks like a cool setup. There are 6 rinks that they've been grooming and flooding all week. There's a bunch of event tents set up and an area for snowmoble parking. There are several large aluminum fish houses ( I'm guessing for warm up shacks ) and lots of people around.

The rinks are betweeen the Bayside Grill and Maynards. It's free as far as I know. I might just mosey down there and grab a burger and watch for awhile if it warms up a bit.

The touring version of this tournament will be held a few blocks from my house.

I as far as I know the U.S Pond Hockey Championships will be on Lake Nokomis in MPLS again this year.

Scheduled for Jan 23-25.
