The Ontario fishing regs state with a seasonal reg limit lic, 1 sturgeon may be kept if greater than 74.8" and an export permit is required to transport a sturgeon out of Canada. The open season for fishing sturgeon is Jan 1 - April 30,

& July 1 - Dec 31.

The American regs allow you to keep 1 sturgeon between 45 - 50 inches,I dont have the new regs yet ,usually the season runs the last week of April through the 1st week of May.There is a generous catch and release season also .I will post the regs when they come out

Just a reminder, the walleye season stays open till April, on the Rainy river and Rainy Lake ,some of the best open water fishing on the river for walleye's happens this time of year ,The late ice bite for all species on the lake is fantastic.
