NEW NILS POWER AUGER

I just got a new nils 8". What is the oil to gas ratio i should mix? should i run a tank or two before i cut with it? thanks!

Ryan I broke in and still only use Amsoil Professional Saber. I broke mine in and still run it at 80 to 1. You should break in your auger with a couple of tanks of gas run through it and just to make it safe take off the auger. When you start cutting holes do not press down on the auger but let it cut on its own and you will find it will work perfect. One other tip is to apply a little lift when you get to the bottom of the hole and it will punch through better.

start it up...rev it up a few times...floor it and toggle the choke back and forth until it almost kills while your breaking it in...i'd run a tank or two.

You'll lover your new auger. Mine is 3 years old and it does need to warm up for a minute and it cuts like a dream. I use Amsoil at 80:1 and have no issues.

Yeah you will love it!! I don't have one but my buddy does, which means as soon as my Eskimo dies this is what I will get.

Run at least 1 tank of Amsoil Saber at 80 to 1 in it before you even put the auger fluting shaft on. Rev it up every 20 minutes or so and run the choke lever through the levels every time you rev it up. This assures the diaphram is seating well and everything is well lubed. Once you do this your ready to cut.

After you have ran your 1st gallon or so at 80 to 1 you can run it at 100 to 1 like I do. I pillow packet of Saber makes a 100 to 1 mix in 1 gallon of gas. Many run it at 90 to 1 and thats fine as well.
