Catmendo
Those of us living in this frigit environment have all asked that question at some point in time, "how do they do it"? I'm referring to both non-migratory birds and a wide assortment of mammals that do not hibernate during cold winter months. This morning the mecury was sitting right at -40 when I started my SUV...now that's brutally cold now matter how you cut! Yet, you look over at the bird feeder and the activity is buzzing. Considering they are not nocturnal, their nights must be a misery!

eyeguy 54
Proabably one of the best things we can do is keep the feeder full. They sure are tough!
MARINERMAGNUM
Quote: This morning the mecury was sitting right at -40 Wow,that's cold. Humans weren't designed for those kind of temps-otherwise we would have a thick layer of fur,or feathers-not gore tex.Been listening intently to an acquaintence out in Stockton California who has a decent job waiting for me with an established company [64 years] He even has a nice little acreage found for us. Getting harder to resist! Oh,to be a few hours from Yosemite and Half Dome, and a few hours from the Ocean....grrrrrr! Too much family around here to leave though. Dag Nabbit!
