La Crosse Area

Anyone have information on fishing in the La Crosse, or Onalaska area for pan fish? I would like to try and get out this weekend and looking for advice.

check the lake map on the back of the latest issue of "wisconsin outdoor news" newspaper. it featured lake onalaska. i just skimmed it - sounds like the corps of engineers have done a lot of work and there's some pretty good fishing right close to shore.

This area is my home waters. To give you the honest truth, there is nothing good to say about the fishing this year. It has been extremelly slow with very few fish being caught. Your best bet might be the Stoddard area. The best fishing lately has been at Drebach Dam fishing for sauger and eyes. Onalaska is and has been so slow I do not even go there anymore. Black Deer is terrible. The dead and dieing shad have the water very cloudy and the smell will gag you.

i have been fishing dresbach alot lately and it seems like a hit or miss deal, some days havent been to bad but for the most part it has been pretty slow, i have found genoa to be much more appetizing though!!!!
