I had that problem too. I mixed up some laundry detergent in some hot water and blew it through my pressure washer inside the house and out...let it sit for a few minutes and then rinsed it with clear water. Brought it in the garage and threw the heater inside on high for a couple hours. Then I sprayed it with silicone water proofing. good as new. I also store it with Bounce or Snuggle dryer sheets in the off season.
