Lazer Mag X, Switch Problems?

Hey all, just a questions for all that have a Lazer Mag Express. Have any of you had problems with the on/off switch? When the motor is running, I try to use the shut off switch and the motor does not turn off. Obviously the choke will shut the unit off, but I like everything to work correctly on my stuff, especially when I have to travel a ways to other lakes to fish. Just wondering if anyone has been in the same situation, and if there is a fix that I can make. Thanks.

I have the same problem and so do many others. I believe you can get one from any tecumseh dealer, 1 wire switch. I put a rubber cover over mine, but the problem came before the cover and still exists. Now I just use the yellow compression button, shuts that puppy right down, and is easier on the mag.

SM told me not to use the switch, just to shut it down with the compression release, this will also prevent kick back that may break your pull rope.

I am not so sure I have a yellow compression button. My unit is like 8 yrs. old. Thanks for the response!

I would call Strike Master they will get you a new switch, they have very good CS.
