NR Ontario deer hunters now need resident guide?

Anyone have any up-to-date information regarding the rumor that non-resident deer hunters in all areas of Ontario will need Ontario resident hunting guides for the upcoming deer seasons? Primarily concerned with areas which surround Lake of the Woods.

I know that there has been a big push by the outfitters in the unguided areas to get that put in place and there were talks going on, but I have not heard that it has been accepted and will be in place for the upcoming season. If I hear about it, I will post an update.

From what I have heard is that as long as the deer populations remain what the MNR considers high then no movement towards hunting in the area will take place... ie, dropping tag numbers or requiring NR's to hire a guide in areas not already requiring guides. Ofcourse one other thing they will take into consideration is hunting safety as excessive hunters will increase the probability of accidents or dangerouse hunting conditions. Requiring a guide will most likely reduce hunting numbers. I am sure superbee and outfitter will be kept up to date on all hunting issues also.
