I use snaps and have never had an issue and don't think it screws with presentation at all...or atleast I haven't noticed.

I use a snap swivle. Then I put about 24" of vanis on and tie my line to jig to this. I actually tie up a lot of the vanish lines that are already on the jigs (Same as lindy's in the summer) which makes for quick change outs on the ice.

I started using the fast snaps this year. Love it. Seems to give it more action than when tied to the line. Quick and easy, just how I like it.

I use Mustad fas snaps and also use power swivels. Tie you line to the power swivel then 2 ft. of line off that and tie to your fas snap. Also helps eliminate the spin on your jig when jigging. Try jigging with direct tie to the jig and with some fishing line the jig will be spinning 100mph after you jig it.

Panfish- #10 Power Swivel with #3 Mustad, 3lb. P-Line

I'm with Sandmann, I have about 30-40 jigs/spoons tied up on 24" Vanish leaders. I keep them on those round things that I keep my Lindy rigs on. I could change my jig/lure/bait 5 times in a minute if I wanted to.
