Did you specify a tube frame??? If not you should have. If you ordered a tube frame then I would ask for my money back. Then contact me and I will give you a few places you can get a quality trailer from. If you are just going to use it on local lakes you will be fine. But if you are going to pull it long distances and on some big lakes--- I hate to say it but by the photos you are just asking for trouble and trouble you will have

the front of the v was the only place the angle iron was, which has already been replaced. and yes, i'm pretty much at the point where i would be if a normal person would have done it. unfortunately i trusted the wrong guy. would be nice if people were honest in this world.

i did specify no angle iron, but honestly i was lucky to get the trailer as it was. i looked up info on the county HSOforum and after his delinquent taxes and felony fines and such there would have been no way to get my money back other than taking him to small claims court and that just would be more money anyways. he did say if i had a problem to bring it back, but i don't want him to screw it up anymore.

it's all tube steel now so it will be a fine frame. just took longer than expected and an additional $500.

When you go to put the grease zurk in, take the arm off of the pivot shaft. Where you drilled the hole for the grease zurk on the arm, mark that spot on the pivot shaft, and grind a shallow line (1/16") all the way around the shaft. This will add in even distribution of the grease on the shaft. When you pump the grease in, it will fallow the line that you ground in the shaft.

It is good to hear that they didn't weld the spring into place. I have seen this done before. Not pretty when the spring needs to be replaced.

Hey Kevin....Sorry to hear about your bad experience! It's too bad you found out the hard way. It is better off sticking with a business that has been around for a while. You might pay a little more but you do get what you pay for!

We'll see what happens. I'd like at least to beef up the leaf springs, spindles and winches. If I don't sell it I may end up putting even more money into it. I'm kinda torn. It is good the way it is now, but we'll see.

Good fishin with you last weekend. Catching could have been better.

Did the welder come up with the frame design or you? I am trying to figure how you get a frame design? Also is it a pain to try and convert a pop up camper frame to work? I would like to build one someday and trying to figure where to start.

You bet, I will include my phone number in there also if you want to call. We have been very happy with ours but there have been a few things we would change. Feel free to call me if you have any questions.

E-mail on the way.

I built my wheel house only I did a few things different, I bought a enclosed trailer 7x14 withan 3foot v nose, I took the axles out, built an stainless steel pin coming out the sides and mounted my rolling wheel assembly with a winch with locking brakes that is the important part, as you dont want those winches to get awayfrom you as Ive seen what can happen alot of injuries, I cut a 4inch space btween the c channel crossmembers with my plasma cutter, I installed a 4x3 square tubing front to back entire length of the house with 6ft extending out the front sos I can make my front pivot with a 4ft 4x3 square tubing on top with two pins one in rear and one up front, of course it is all decked out, but Ive got 8 holes with catch covers and an 18,ooo btu heater sattelite t.v. sirrous radio and the whole nine yards, being in the roofing business I would suggest not cutting any holes in your roof for an escape, instead check out a window kit like a bay window from fish house supply, that is far more easier to install and to flash, where as a roof escape unless it is rubber you will never get it to seal and not leak as there is no real way to flash it, flat roofs are a little difficult, and will always leak one time or another, without putting alot more weight up on that roof, like all the black jack or whatevere you use, especially if your going to be pulling it down the road like I do. let me know if I can be of assistance in any way Ive only built 8 of em so far and am working on an 30 ft right now.

I am also building a house this summer too. I saw a commerical for a Dream Shack that had an AC unit on the roof so that you can use it in the summer too as a camper. How do they get their roof not to leak? Or will it just leak eventually and they don't say that? Reason being is the wife would like it if we could use it as a camper too. Curious on the thought.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
