Battery life in ufo lights

Okay, last year I bought and let my buddy in Iowa keep my ufo light from Northern Tool. I bought a new one this year and I noticed it had 4 AA's instead of the old one that needed 3. Well I just got back from NT with my second light. I have put reflectix on my ceiling of my small otter den (one man) and the other night when I was out, with fresh batteries, my new one started to dim after 3 hours. it worked really slick having the light bouncing up off the ceiling, so much so that I will have the two lights now sitting back to back so when I have to tie a lure (or see how bad I sunk a treble hook in my thumb like I did Monday night) I can turn the lower one on. I am just wondering what kind of life you are getting out of your ufo light?

I have a light from Northern. I use rechargeable batteries and just recharge them every trip. I havn't had to buy batteries since last year. Eveready makes a recharger that recharges batteries in 15 minutes and plugs into 110 or your cig lighter.

I've never had my lights go dim

I thought rechargable batteries made the LEDs pop?

I have one of the 3 battery ones and I think I replaced the batteries once all of last season. I didn't use it a ton or for an extended period of time, but I am pretty sure I used them for a few hours each time. Maybe bad/old batteries? I think I just used the Energizer max AA's. This year I bought the new Lithium's for all of my ice fishing gear electronics, since they are supposed to perform better in the cold (and I just store my stuff in an unheated attached garage). I just got one of the red LED lights from northern that has like 48 of them or so. Can't wait to give it a try!
