TonkaBass
Maybe you guys who throw a lot of them can clear this up for me. I have noticed that single blade spinnerbaits have become more and more difficult to find. What's the reason for tandems becoming so much more popular than a nice thumping single blade? Nick Kuhn
So they can foul on cast more often and frustrate the fisherman. Honestly I don't know, other than the logic more flash + more vibration must = more fish.
Clay.P
I think alot of what happens on the spinnerbait scene revolves around what is happening on the tournament scene. Seems like when the pros want a spinnerbait, they are looking for a bigger profile and fishing them during the spring and the fall. I think that will translate into what the pro asks for from there sponsors and then that gets passed on to the tackle industry. Strike King would be a prime example of this. I make all of my spinnerbaits and really like a single willow blade on the Mississippi River when fishing eel grass or buring through matted vegetation. I like a big double, triple or quad bladed spinnerbait in the spring or fall anywhere, or when slow rolling deep weedlines, or burning over wingdams.
