Fish House TV

Hello -

I am wondering if anyone has any ideas/suggestions on what kind of TV to get for a Perm. fish house. The house does have an antenna so I assume at the end of February 09 one will need to buy the new box/converter or does some TV's have that built into it? I am also able to run 12V or I can plug the TV into 110 and that goes to an inverter. However I think by using the inverter it will wear the battery down faster than if using 12V with a lighter plug in. Any suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Chad

Try to find a tv that has the ability to run on dc or ac. I have found that some will have a 12vdc jack but no cord with them. You will save power by not using a inverter. Also try to find the lowest wattage tv you can find. Most 15" and larger lcd tv's are about 55 or 60 watts was. I have a smaller one that only uses 17 watts on dc or 22 on ac. The lower the wattage the less battery you will use. I have seen several 10" units that are in the 18-22 watt range. Most any tv you buy now will have the new tuner so that is not an issue.
