700th Question about H20's

Why is it that when I'm running off external power (summertime its plugged into a cigarette lighter in the boat, in the winter its hooked up to the snowmobile/atv), It still shuts down. It won't turn on. Then I put fresh AA batteries in, and it runs fine. When running off external power, shouldn't it run forever. It did it again today, I checked the "pages" screen and it says its running off external, blah,blah,blah..... is this thing just wired to only work that way, or do i have a faulty cord, or possibly the unit? I love this thing, but luckily I had some extra batteries, otherwise today would have been scary in this fog. Thanks for your help.

I had the same problem with my H2OC. Found out I had a faulty cord. Since it was less than a year old, I took it back to where I bought it and they replaced the cord at no charge. Haven't had a problem since.

Mine just started doing the same thing. I will be getting a new cord soon!
