You will need to adjust your gain depending on the depth, structure, and type of lure being used.

Keep your gain as low as possible an have it so you can just see your jig. With the Bird, I would leave the support cable off the transducer cable and just use the float. That way you will have no issues with the ducer hanging level in the hole.

Remove the cable support, feed the transducer cable throuogh the slit in the float and use a clip on the cable above the float to hold it in place. You'll have several extra clips left over for future use.

In order to see my juju bug/crappie minnow in 24 foot water, I had to turn my gain upwards of 14-17. 19 degree cone. Another Ice 45 was running 6ft from me and had to be turned to 9 degree cone to deter interference. His gain was set at 10.
