Wheelhouse insulation question??

I'm building a new fish house and was wondering what method some of you have used to cut the pink or blue foam type insulation. I have built a couple of houses in the past and I always dread insulation time. I have used a utility knife and a jig saw in the past. They just don't make a smooth, strait, cut that fits snug betweed the studs. Just looking for any better ideas.

Yeah that makes alot of sense. I was just worried it would melt or something and ruin my saw. I'm glad to hear it worked out for you though. I have a table saw, and I actually thought about trying that. I'll definetly give that a shot. Thanks for the advise!

Use a sheetrock square and a utility knife on a set of saw horses with a sheet of plywood to make a table. Cut your insulation larger that the opening between your studs and "force" the sheets into place. With a little practice, your installation will be clean and tight! cool

Use a razor sharp fillet knife. You need some small clamps to hold a metal ruler (guide) in place. Just score it half way through the first time. Then cut all the way through the second time. If your blade is sharp it cuts easy just be careful. Table saw is too messy.
