Jay Man
Just wondering the brand of the tracks and a ball park price?
SomethingFishy*
Just wondering the brand of the tracks and a ball park price? They are the Polaris Prospector Pro's. The tracks and mounting brackets run approximately $3500 depending on the dealer. Most track kits run between $3000 and $7000.
Tyler23
Dude your 4wheelers are sweet!...i am debating weather to get a 800 sportsman or a razer?...time to trade in the ol' 400 sportsman for something that will get up and go.
Roofer
If you are thinking about a Rzr, make sure you test drive one first. I test drove a 2009 Rzr and I felt like a little kid driving a Go-cart. It sure was a smooth ride though.
landscaper
SomethingFishy i saw under ice fishing pic. that you were plowing a road or parking spot for your fish house?? Hows it work on the Ice??also do you load ur atv in the truck or in back of your fish house??(what size is the house)
SomethingFishy*
Works great on the ice, with the snow amounts we have it takes a little time as you can only use about half the blade and must angle it. I load the ATV in the back of the fish-house. It has a rear drop down door and is just wide enough to fit the blade in it. The house is an 8x20 plus a v-front. With tghe ATV in the house, blade facing the door it rides perfectly level.
landscaper
Nice set upLooks like a 1/2 you pull it with?? How it pull it if it is??So you plow out a spot everytime?(whens there is snow)
SomethingFishy*
yep, the truck is a 1/2 ton 07 Chevy with the 5.3 and Z71 package. Also has a brake controller. It pulls it fine and averages about 10 mpg fully loaded. Typically plow a spot out, back the house in and set the house on 4x4's as we have hole sleeves. Then we will use the wheeler to help bank it. Helps get the house away from the crowds a little. We usually bring the portable with as well so we can scout and explore if we desire. landscaper
seems to work nice for you! so i take it the fish house has brakes on it..and it looks like a "lodge" fish house? how much ice you need for that big boy?Where mostly do you fish area of MN ? SomethingFishy*
Trailer has tandem brakes. I've had it on 12"s but prefer 16". House weighs about 4500 lbs emppty. Typically fish URL but have had it out to Mille Lacs, and all over MN and WI atv'ing in the summer.
CrappieKiller01
somethingfishy just wondering did you compare other tracks to the prospectors. Just curious as i am looking at the polaris 850 with power steering. just so many other track companys out there. prospectors look great and seem to work good. my only other choice i like so far is the tatou 4s or the litefoot M3 with the 1 3/4" lug. SomethingFishy*
I wanted the M3's but price made me choose differently. I have heard that the 1 3/4" track would be a headach around here as it is designed for deeper mountaion snow. Tatou 4's are supposed to be decent but I have not used them. I have only used the 1st and 2nd gen Prospectors. Gen 3's just came out, i'm assuming updated for the XP models.
