callaway
I haven't had any luck with them so far. The pimple worked really well and while the bite was on i experimented with it and nothing worked. I did catch fish with the rap.
harvey lee
Thats too bad as many others are having very good luck with them. Did you try a different size or maybe a different jigging sequence? Maybe a different color may have helped too. At times, not all jigs work under every situation.
Dave Barber
Harvey is correct. What works one day as far as size, bait, color, jigging technique... may not work the next day. Sometimes they prefer a minnow head... sometimes loaded up with waxies. Different colors will be more effective on different lakes as well as different times of year. As the colder water reaches and mixes with the thermocline... water gets a little dark... sometimes brighter colors work better. Give the glow a charge with your Lindy tazer. See if that will bring them in. Another question would be... Were you marking any fish to begin with? What type of structure were you on and at what time of day? buddha
Did really well on the crappies last year. Gained a lot of confidence with it and will be trying more for the eyes this year. It is a great lure.
callaway
I tried everything from different size, color, jigging andI even morning and evening. I tried different day with minnows, plain and larvae. The jigging rap worked. I haven't given up on them just a little disappointed.

Team Otter
The Lindy Rattlin' Flyer Spoon proved it's weight in gold this past weekend on Leech Lake. Load the treble up with euro larvae and hang on! Jumbo perch for 3 days straight...
zamboni
Love em. Caught many crappies on them. BTW, I usually "tailhook" the minnow instead of back hook them. Gives it great action
polarsusd81
The Rattl'n Flyer Spoon worked wonders on LOTW Sauger this weekend as well. Many sauger came through the holes. I hooked the head of a preserved or frozen shiner on there and couldn't keep em off the hook.
Borch
The glow red Rattlin flyer has been my hot spoon for cats this winter. I've had to replace treble hooks on a couple due to all the cats that inhaled this spoon.
zamboni
Borch, what size you using, spoon wise? The biggest one?
Borch
I've been using the 1/8 and 3/16 oz spoons with success. I've caught cats on the other colors as well but glow red has excelled.
zamboni
I have perch and can't remember the other color, gonna have to get some red ones now, I love those things.

Windy
I have been using the Rattlin Flyer Glow Red just about all winter and when the fish want it, they take it! I have caught walleyes,saugers,perch,burbot--these spoons are Great! That has been my go to spoon all winter and there is only a few days where it hasn't produced. I went over a week straight without taking that lure off--I did change trebles tho-- By far this has been my favorite lure of the season! Last weekend the guys that were fishing with me(hard core chubby darter fans) actually were begging for one--Ya, I caved and gave them one.Great Spoon for sure!!Jasonwww.hardwateradventures.com[email protected]
Bigslugger
They loved all colors of the Rattlin Flyers and in any size this weekend on LOTW @ 19 miles reef. Tip them with a tail and it was better than imaginable
Shack
I own every variation of the LRFS now They are my only go-to spoon now for winter vertical action now! I am going to LOW this weekend and with out a doubt, the Lindy Rattling Flyer Spoon's will be with
Sifty
The red worked great for us.Shack, it would be smart for you to grab a red one.Sifty
CNY Tim
I'll be giving the new 1/16 oz. sized ones a shot tomorrow for shallow water perchin.
CNY Tim
Caught a few perch for my last trip of the year and the Rattlin Flyer size 1/16 oz. in red glow was the ticket for most of my fish..
Shack
The red worked great for us. Shack, it would be smart for you to grab a red one. Sifty Thanks Sifty for the color tip I worked out great! CNY Tim, great catch dude! The spoon does work wonders over other spoons I have in my fold. I think it is the curved wings that gives it that needed action to trigger the bite. Ed Carlson
I recommend you keep your Lindy Rattl'n Flyer's out and ready for spring open water fishing too..don't chuck them into storage tell first ice...they produce very well all year around..especially on rivers. Northlander
Ed isnt it crazy how many guys toss their spoons in storage come soft water? I love that solid THUNK when a big river eye pops my Flyer, Flasher spoon, swedish pimple or buckshot.Im using more and more spoons tipped with gulp now as well as blade baits.Do you use much gulp or blade baits? If so what do you prefer for both?
Ed Carlson
You bet, nearly all ice fishing lures has a place in the cold water periods of spring and fall. They also are ideal for spot-on-the-spot jigging on humps in summer or even suspended fish.I've had some crazy hot bites on Chubby Darters on open water, many in the spring on rivers. Lindy Rattl'n Flyers are made for spring jigging on many systems.
DoubleLunger
Back when jiggin raps were all the rage, i did well on Mille Lacs one summer.
