Finns
Any one make their own float to hold the transducer suspended in the water? I know I can order one but shipping is more than the float. The stores don't handle them this far south. May have to buy one on my next trip north.
0 huntnfish
I think you could probably make one out of the foam pipe insulation. Just get some for the smallest diameter pipe you can and it should work fine.
0 NAMASafetyDirector
Not sure about the rest of you guys but I just took the float right off of mine. I seem to have better luck letting the transducer down to the bottom of the ice. The other thing I like about doing this is that the trans. cord can lay right against the wall of the hole. In the event you don't get time to pull the trans. out of the water this gives you a little more room in the hole without the float getting in the way. I also have a bad tendancy to get my jig stuck in the foam! If I want the cord a little shorter I just wrap it around the handle on the vex a time or two till it hangs where I want it. Just my personal preference of course!

0 jigginjerk
Cut a chunk out of a swimming noodle. Use a solid one and cut a slice on one side, then wrap it tight with tape.
