Eric Wettschreck
Here in SW MN, the guys have been in the fields pretty strong for the past couple of days. As stated, moisture is all over the board but many of the guys are taking it out anyway.Side note- I don't farm, I know very little about farming. Walleye Guy
I was in the Ortonville area this past weekend. I would guess that 75% of the beans are out and 15% of the corn is out. Many of the farmers had their combines going on their corn. However I saw just as many tilling their picked beans fields. It will be a while before the corn is out. The rain today and what is forecasted for later in the week won't help speed things. We were disappointed in the numbers of pheasanats we saw and harvested. I am hoping the corn is the issue. The ratio of second year birds to birds that were born this year was higher than what it usually is. That tells me the hatch wasn't reall strong. Time will tell.
