Scoot
Hi Wes,Good luck to you in MT! Prime time for wallows has come and gone now. However, wallows are used by elk almost 12 months of the year. If you know where some wallows are in the area you're going to be hunting, it's definitely worth a look. It may be that some cows are coming into a 2nd estrus cycle when you're out there, so the wallows might be somewhat more likely to get hit a bit then. Definitely check them out if you know where they are- if they look to be getting some use, it might be worth a sit. Also, keep an eye on any bulls that you see through your glass. If they're all mudded up, obviously they're using a wallow somewhere...Good luck!
