Crescent moon setting

My mate hollered up to me about 15 minutes ago that a crescent moon was setting in the southwest. So I hopped to it and got this out the window of our west-facing bedroom.

Amazing how you can see the craters. That's one sharp moon.

Nice shot! I was at a high school football game Friday evening and I was using the binoculars to look at the moon more than the game.

Sweet! I was watching the moon on my way down to the folks Friday night, and was trying in my head to come up with some way using the crescent moon with the orange sunset. Would have been a difficult lighting problem. Love the golden color of this one!
