hand ice auger help

hi im buying ice gear to start out this year i have a strike master 7 inch mora hand auger will this work good or do i have to buy a power auger im mostly fishing tip ups thanks

Since you will not be 'runnin and gunnin' around the lake and simply want to set tipups; a hand auger will work fine. Obviously it is easier with a gas auger, but not entirely necessary.

Used to have an 8" Lazer hand auger and loved it.

Should work, just make sure you have sharp blades.

If you already have the strikemaster mora hand auger it will work good to make it better check out the Icegator then it will be great!

I have used an ice auger the past three seasons and have used it from 8" of ice up to 28" of ice. Is it work, yes, but warms you up. Do you run and gun, not but sometimes that isn't what it is about. I recently purchased a used power auger and think it will make it more convienant but I think starting with a hand auger helped me learn I wanted to get more into ice fishing
