Making a wood tripod deer stand

I was out yesterday doing some scouting, and found a great site for a stand, but all the oak trees were too small. It overlooks a point on a wetland,with long grass in front of it. I was thinking a tripod stand might get the job done, or maybe I cold rig something to the smaller trees, but that could be tough.

Any pics, suggestions, ideas?

Fleet Farm sells a set of brackets for making a platform satnd out of wood. I can remember the cost of the set, but looks like with the bracket set you could probably make a stand pretty quick with minimal skills or materials. My guess is that the size of the platform and height are up to you.
