BirdFoot Trefoil...from above...

A while ago, I submitted this image I captured of the BirdFoot Trefoil.

Yesterday I captured this image of a single BirdFoot while shooting directly down into the center of the flower. It brings these colorful little blooms into a whole different perspective.

Nice work, Stu. I love shooting radially symmetrical flowers from above. It always looks like a kaleidescope, and this is a cool yellow one.

Betcha wanted a macro lens for it, eh?

Thanks Steve. Macro....you bet! Although this one turned decent using the 17-40.

I've been doing a lot more floral work with the 17-40 this year. It focuses in really close and is particularly handy when true macro isn't needed. At 17mm, it makes a pretty cool lens for getting a lot of a flower's environment (or the sky) in the frame as well, if a person wants that.
