Grant
for bull 'gills and eater size crappies... *unnnamed lake* (don't ask ) stained water, clarity about 9 feet at best, edge of weed bed in a narrow channel, 5 FOW... white 1/16 roundhead hair jig, tipped with Crappie Craws drifted along the edge. _really light hits_ but there if you're paying attention. just had to ignore the 10 inch snot rockets that were hitting ever so often
shizzy
I was having pretty good luck tossing a beetle spin. they were taking it the second it was hitting the water. I lost that lure to a pretty big Northern...

Hammer Handle
Due to boat traffic, the crappie strike was low. But Sunday night and Monday, the crappies were biting on everything!

iland99
Over the 4th I found 3 large schools of nice eater-sized crappies pinning minnows against the surface on a small local lake. I caught a crappie on nearly every cast using a Salmo Hornet. Needless to say, it was a blast! I also had two very nice bluegills attack the Hornet, which were released. I did keep a limit of crappies to fry up.
