What is a good Northern Lake North of Mille Lacs

Looking for a good lake for some big Northerns that is not too far from home with the price of gas and all. Looking for a decent alternative to Red Lake. Would also like to hit Mille Lacs on the way home for a day of fishing. Any one have ideas.

While I wouldn't go near it this coming Holiday week, Gull Lake has some big pike. There are a few northern tourneys on there and every year there are some very nice pike caught.
