Winnie accommodations

Looking for a decent place for me and the Mrs. to stay for the Winnie event.
Any places? I have done searches and have not found anything reasonable and I'm sure Denny's is booked. I got 2 options so far
1. sleep in the van down by the river
2. Drive up to my buddies cabin at Red after for the evening bite and stay there.

Thanks for the link info
Dennys does look good but they only have 5 cabins in the winter and with all of the people coming up, I'm sure they are booked by now. but there seems to be quite a few motels etc around the area
I am still tossing the idea of URL for the night bite after the Sat get together, and stop Sunday for some more fishing at Winnie on the way back home. Gonna be kinda like a bi athalon of ice fishing, fish perch then drive drive drive and fish crappies. tiring but sounds fun.

Did you give Denny's a call? They still may have openings. They also have six (I think) motel rooms besides the cabins.

Good Luck.

Check Denny's to be sure they aren't booked. Ask for the IceLeaders Discount. I believe they are giving one as long as they have availability.

Click here for the Resort Locator.

Be sure to check the for the Drake Motel and Tomahawk in Blackduck, the Park Inn Motel in Northome, and Birchahven in Tenstrike.

Also try Nodaks (just down from Dennys) or Little Winnie Resort (a few miles down the road). Gosh Dam also has rooms to rent.

    • Wisconsin's traditional nine-day gun deer hunting season opens this Saturday and with snow in many northern areas and more in the forecast for Friday into Saturday but with otherwise relatively mild hunting conditions it should make for a good opener.Hunters can find all the information they need by searching the DNR HSOforum for keyword "deer." Or new for this year, hunters with mobile devices can download the Hunt Wild Wisconsin mobile app, which provides mapping, shooting hours and easy access to regulations. Hunters can download the app from the DNR HSOforum at keywords "hunt app."Little Manitou Falls at Pattison State Park has begun to ice over. Skim and shelf ice is forming on lakes and some smaller lakes have frozen over.Photo credit: DNRThis is the earliest possible opening of the season and while it is winding down in some areas, rutting activity is still noticeable with bucks visiting their scrapes and rubs and still being seen chasing does. A reminder that hunters must register their deer by 5 p.m. the day after recovery and registration is now easier than ever online, by phone or in person at registration stations. Search the DNR HSOforum for "GameReg," for details. Hunters can get a deer tested for CWD at no cost and can find sampling locations by searching for keywords "CWD Sampling." .
    • It looks great! Throw a few nonslip rugs down.  It's Winter after all! 😋
    • I converted mine to 1 ton Reese 12v winch. Seems to work well with my light weight wheel house.
    • Looks great but cold and slippery, I'm a carpet guy.
    • absolutely 100% yes. Like with the augers though, use a good drill. My Ryobi barely does both sides once on a battery, my Fuel is 1000 times better. It's not recommended to go down with a drill, only up. You'll see all this on Nutz w e b s i t e.
    • I missed it too, the caps always just own us.
    • Who all uses this system? Do you raise and lower your house with a drill.   I was looking at picking up the 2 speed winchs for both axles and the hitch winch.   Are they worth the money??
    • Great showing by the team last night! It was exciting to see the effort level way up and the new guys seem to plug into their roles well. Much more excited for the rest of the season!
    • I run 6lb on two rods and 4lb on two. I like the (possibly imagined) extra feel on the 4lb for light bites. I run swivels on my rods too, unless there's a very finicky bite
