Slowpitch Softball Bat - Break-in?

Does anyone know anything about breaking in softball bats, I've heard everything from no you don't to yes you have to - it takes about 500 swings.........

I half swung my Demarini F2 on a wood telephone pole rotating each swing for about a 1/2 hour it loosened it up a bit and it's been red hot still going into it's 4th season. I have heard of guys on the comps using rubber mallets too. I think that getting as much BP as you can in is the best thing...

How about bat rollers?

just swing it rotating the bat in your swings....that is the most natural way to break it in......some bats are "hot" right out of the wrapping but not many........
