How's the Musky population in Island Lake Res. by Duluth

Anybody fish Island for musky? Is there a viable population established>

I've not fished it but was looking into this myself and using the search function on here. Seems there is a fair population of fish and they are reaching upper 40's in length now.

We've fished it a couple times. It has 50's and bigger in it. Structure overload, but also fairly well travelled by other fisherman and pleasure boaters on the weekend. Keyes Outdoors did a show on there last year that was aired a couple weeks ago. They supposedly broke an unwritten rule not to mention the specific name of the lake they're on (according to the callers), but they got a lot of guff from the locals who want to keep it a secret. Could be the next mini-Vermillion.

lots of smallies. It is a great multispecies lake. Lot of fun to fish.

small walleyes- 4-11 inches seems to be average for me.
