License Plate Mod?

Got my new to me pop-up licensed today. Much to my dismay I have to put a full-size license plate on it. The plate holder is under the taillight, and I will have to possibly cut the plate to get it to work. What did everyone else do?

Mine fit fine but the bracket was flimsy plastic and broke and I had to buy a new light assembly to fix it.

Is it illegal in Minnesota to take a tinsnips and cut a license plate?

Why not pop rivet it to the back of the camper? That is what the rental company I bought mine from did. i have not had to change the plate in 18 years. hard to lose this way.

I just decided to only use one of the screws. Doesn't seem like it will go anywhere- just can't read the Minnesota at the top of the plate because thats behind taillight lens.
