Just got back from Wally world---they had some hummingbirds 525 and 565 graph locators----whats the take on them ----seem to be relatively inexpensive----$125 to $200. Any good--which one would you buy????????????

Always get the highest resolution that you can afford. Humminbird makes a good product. I haven't had any problems with the ones that I have.

hsolist usually has some good deals. Just do a search, but you'll have better results if you spell it correctly HUMMINBIRD. Otherwise NuGadgets.com is very competitive. I ordered my last locator from them. At least you will know if your getting a good deal.

I don't remember if mine is the 525 or 535, but I like it. Mine has water temp but no speedometer, but that's okay. I would get the 565 myself.

Quote from the manual:

Your Humminbird® Fishfinder 565 uses a 200/83

kHz Dual Beam sonar system with a wide (60°)

area of coverage. DualBeam sonar is optimized

to show the greatest bottom definition using a

narrow (20°) beam yet can still indicate fish

found in the wide (60°) beam when the Fish

ID+™ feature is turned on. DualBeam is ideal

for a wide range of conditions - from shallow to

very deep water in both fresh and salt water.

Depth capability is affected by such factors as

boat speed, wave action, bottom hardness,

water conditions and transducer installation.
