delzz7
I have mustard algae in my pool, I been fighting it for over a year. I have done everything the pool store has told me do and spent alot of money on their products. I don't know if someone else might have a better product somewhere else or a different method. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
updecreek
Well lets start here do you have a sand filter or cartige filter?
eurolarva
Are you sure it is mustard algae? We were diagnosed with it a couple of times and it ended up being pine pollen. Seemed strange our outdoor furniture and grill also had this algae. Try Valley Pool in Andover. Call during the work day that is when their most experienced people work. I am guessing you will have to nuke it pretty bad with chlorine and then run a lot of algicide after. If you live on a lake you have a lot higher risk of the algae then us city people. delzz7
I have a sand filter and a pond. I had a leak by the pump and didn't realize it got low and wasn't recirulating. For the five years prior never had the algae. I described the probelm to the pool store and they said it was probably mustard algae. It lays on the bottom of the pool like dirt. updecreek
Well to get rid of it you have to do the chems. then brush is up off the bottom. all the time keep brushing. when it looks some what gone after a week or two. then you need to do a sand change. It grows in with the sand. so after the sand. filters the algae.change sand.ps keep brushing up algae to keep filtering.do you swim in the pond?or do put fish in it?
