JayinMN
I thought I saw some blue sky this evening so hopped in my car for a ride hoping the sun would be coming out. No such luck, I saw lots of critters, but the lighting wasn't working with me. I had to crank the ISO. C&C welcome. AV 7.1 Tv 1/80 ISO800 AV 7.1 Tv 1/160 ISO1600 I have never seen a shoveler so this was a nice suprise. And the swans from yesterday were still there, the sun came out for about 5 minutes! Steve Foss
Sweet light on those swans, Jay, and good noise performance on all of them at moderate ISOs.
finnbay
Love the shoveler shots. I've never seen them in the spring. Fall colors much more subdued. Hibbing area?
MN Shutterbug
Shovelers all over the place, around here. My faves are the beaver. They're all definitely sharp.
JayinMN
The shovelers were taken in the ditch on Hwy 7 in Zim tonight. They were actually pretty cooperative, I got out of my car and walked down the ditch to see if I could get a better picture then from the road. They didn't fly away at first sight like most do. Blue-winged teal have been a common sighting too but getting them on camera has been a challenge!
LeeKen
Jayin MN, What camera are you using? The shot at 1600 ISO looks great.
JayinMN
I use a Canon XT with a Canon 100-400 lens. I was actually suprised how well it turned out considering it was nearly dark out.
