I have to get my landscaping going my first step is my egress window, the top of the well lip is the same as the ground..but it is lower then the bottom of my siding by about 8 inches. I have had problems with water coming back to the window. There has been a lot of settling with nothing being put back!! My question is what can I add on to my well that would look nice and keep the water out?? I have the standard steel well, it is about 40 inches wide and 36 inches deep from the window.. should I just find an add on to the steel or could a guy put pavers in around the window well?? I am figuring I would need to raise it up 6-8 inches to help with the irrigation problem. Kind of long sorry..anybody have suggestions or seen this done with pavers??

The standard well comes in a few sizes. You could get the smallest and fabricate it around what you have, extending it up to the desired height.

I'm replacing a wood egress this spring and I'm ordering a well large enough to go deeper and extend up higher to avoid any future problems.

Gutters may help keep the water away. You could also dig down in the ground further and put some rock and sand in there.

If it rains enough and is a wet year, it can leak no matter what. There are alot, and I dare say "most" of them leak. It's just a matter of time.

Precautions do help though.

Sorry, I didn't catch your initial question when I speed read through it. \:\)

I would try to use some type of paver myself, I just don't know how you would get them to make the bends real well.

Thanks guys for your imput..I guess with the pavers it would be trial and error to try and make it just right! I think I will try it I will let you know how it turns out. If anybody else has tried it , let us know.
