Painting question

I've been working on my basement over the winter and have come to the painting part. Has anyone ever used one of those power rollers or paint sprayers? If so how do they work. Wondering if it is worth the money to buy one or just paint the walls and ceilings the old fashion way. Any feedback would be great.

I had the wagner power roller. It does a good job but it's a wreck to clean up. It quit working on me after I painted the whole house when I moved in. Rather than replace it, I just wend the old fashioned way with a roller on a broom handle. They eat batteries like mad too unless you spend the money and get one that plugs in.

IMO, you're better off with the cheapy hand ones. Once you get used to it, you can paint pretty fast. Another option is the one you suck the paint in the handle and just push as you go. My brother used that and loves it.

My kids bought a house and had to paint the entire inside. They bought the plug in one and it was a dream. You get a better result because you can have more uniformity in the amount of paint you apply. It went faster as well. The clean up is a hassle but if you've got a number of rooms to do I recommend it.

Wagner sells a power roller called the "Roll N GO". It runs on (4) C size batteries and will last longer than you painting. You can also throw away the long tube and pump after your done. You would then buy a kit for that model which has a new pump and hose for the next time you use it. Works really well. Cheaper than the plug in power rollers too.

I bought one from Mills and they are a total piece of junk!!!! I brought it back after about an hour of trying to clean it up. Don't waste your money. Rent a real sprayer and do the job right the first time. You will save money and time. Just my two cents worth
