In-Line Boards

Recommended Posts

I have used planner boards with my Big Jon Mast alot fishing for Salmon on Lake Superior in the spring and fall, but this year instead of just jigging or Lindy rigging for eyes, I am going to start to troll with some in-line boards. What brands have you used that you liked or disliked? I know there are some that are weighted and some are not so I am just looking for some pros and cons...

Thanks,

For strictly walleye fishing, I would opt for Offshore with a few minor upgrades... But, being a multi-species troller.. From walleye to musky to salmon and trout, I prefer Church boards.. Out of the package they can handle the rigors of all these species with the use of mono or braid. Offshores I would have to spend extra jing to make my boards suitable for all species.

Why would I opt for Offshore for strictly walleye fishing? They seem to be more bouyant at slower speeds then Church boards, for instance when trolling spinner at painfully slow speeds with the bowmount or the kicker.
