4/12 or 4/13 - Mississippi River?

Anyone interested in kayak/canoe fishing this weekend? Not sure if the weather will be that great, but after seeing the pictures of last weekend's get together, I need to get out there myself!

I've never been on the river before and I'm hoping a more seasoned fisherman/fisherwoman/fisherperson (?) could "show me the ropes".

If the weather is decent I'm there.

I don't know much about river fishing, although I did learn alot last weekend.

If we go I would sujest launching from Hidden falls, along the St.Paul side river parkway. That will put us closer to better fishing.

I may be able to come this weekend. I might be doing some turkey hunting stuff, but I sure would like to get my boat in the water.

I might be up for a dip sunday afternoon, the weather should be improving by then...

It does look like Sunday will be the better day weatherwise. When is the best time to go? Is afternoon the best time or is that just the time to go based on temperature?

Either way, I just want to get my yak in the water again.

Partly that, and also I get out of church at noon, then got to get my fishin clothes on and then fishies here I come!

I'm still in. It looked a little 'iffy' this morning and I was literally getting 'cold feet'. But this afternoon's weather has given me new life!

I'll be there around 2:00 with a camo tarpon 140.

2 sounds good, I can only go for a couple hours though, I just got home from ice fishing today getting crappies in a blizzard, im ready for a change of pace!

And what a change of pace it was! no fish to report, to much current to get to my favorite spots!

started my outing by tipping over in front of the boat ramp in front of everyone, whooopeee. then later I snapped my rod on a snag. oh well, a dunking and a skunking came my way, still had fun though...full recap at mtbucket

Glad you are alright. What caused you to flip over in the first place?

I dunno, mabye it was a little bump from catfish hunter mabye?

I have never flipped while fishing before, but I have hundereds of times for fun, it is quite painless really!
