Got back yesterday had a great time my girlfreind and I went out with Gregg thomas. Girlfreind got her first muskie 40" nice fat fish. overall good time over to days boated 13 fish lost 3or4 more. I love going out with gregg this guy does everything he can to get ya on fish. And he teaches ya the whole time I learn a ton from him every time we go out. Anybody that is not doing as well as they think they should be doing call this guy Trust me it is worth it!!!

Sounds like a good time!

I think the lack of replies you've had (myself included until now) is based on jealousy!

I have not, but I've talked to guys that have fished with Gregg and they say he's a blast, funny as can be and one of the best sticks around.

Any pics to share?

Typical muskie guy........ can tie the most complex knot or know a lure name, make, model number from 10 years ago, but can't post a pic!! grin.gif There's that jealousy thing kicking in again.....

There are "how to's" in the photo forum on how to post, photobucket is a pretty easy site to use. Or someone less jealous than me will offer to post for you! I would but my work address access is being limited by the day......

Greg Thomas seems like a really good guy. One thing that I have noticed is that the best fisherman are very smart. It is logical considering all the factors you need to consider to put yourself on the most fish.

A couple of years ago, Greg and Tony "the Tiger" had a 3 days seminar/school on Mille Lacs. I was really looking forward to it but I had to cancel as I was leaving for a new job. I didn't hear much about the school but I would imagine it was a wonderful time.

BTW, congrats on a great start to the year. Sounds like your girlfriend is a keeper if she travels to Musky fish with you!! Lucky guy.

Who is Tony "the Tiger?" I run in to Gregg all the time on the water and he is a super nice guy. If guides didn't charge so much for a day of fishing, I'd be more willing to do it. The reality is that their usually fishing the same areas and same types of lures I am anyways. The only time I would consider getting a guide is if it was a body of water that I had never fished before. I find it more rewarding when I find out a pattern on my own as well.

Chris I feel like a caveman everytime I get on this square looking thing. Larry I will send pics off 2 ya I suppose I should learn how to do it my self duhhh!! Lals I am very lucky off to webster end of april indiana She will be with on that one as well. Bad thing or good thing is she is starting 2 figure them out and makes sure to let me know what I am doing wrong kinda funny. As far as getting a guide I see a ton of guys spending $$$$$ on gear and then get out on the water and dont know what to do with all that gear. I fished these critters for a year and a half without a fish. Then I went out with Gregg thomas got my first fish A 50" crazy!! That same year I got 46 muskies after going out with him. Just saying for new guys to cut the learning curve it is woth every penny. I hear ya as far as the rates but if you look at the big picture $350 is nothing compared 2 what most of us got into the game.

I think his name is Tony "the Tiger" Grant. He is one of the better known Pro's as well as for catching some giant Tiger Muskies. You will see him time to time in Musky Hunter Mag but unfortunately, I believe he has been fighting Cancer. Not sure how his progress has been.

I believe you're thinking of Crash Mullins unless that's something that has been kept pretty hush hush about Tony.

Luke - Hunter and I are going to Webster Apr 19-21. When are you going? If I have time I will try to post before you go and pass along any info/tips. Here is perhaps a dumb question - does anybody know in a lake like this that relies completely on stocking with little or no natural reproduction - do the fish still build eggs and attempt to spawn and just aren't succesful, or has that urge been lost through nature, time, and evolution? In other words, will they act like spawning fish or not? And at that time (late April), what do you anticipate water temps being - would the spawn, if they attempted it, be over?
