What's your favorite Walleye setup?

I am looking at getting some new walleye equipment for this spring and wanted to know what type of rods and reels most guys think are the ticket. I have lots of "stuff" already but am looking at a setup just for jig & minnow fishing.

What do you think???

For jig and minnow I like a 6'6" ML rod, the ones I use the most are St. Croix and Setyr. And I have Shimano Stradics on most of my walleye rods. You'll get a lot of opinions and good advice, you can look back through some recent posts also as this has been discussed lately, especially fishing rods.

one thing. if a spinning reel is your choice, think of shimano. with rear drag ''and'' the fightin' drag option. nice to hook them with a setting drag and be able to give the immediate drag you want them to have at the turn of a lever. no fumbling to get it right. and for the big girls thats really important.
