I am getting pumped for some south shore fishing, just wondering if any one thinks we will be able to get out there by mid april?

Been getting some thaw during the daytime here, but nightime lows are still well below freezing.. I am thinking some areas of the south shore, mainly Corny to Herbster and Port Wing and the Saxon area will open first.. Probably Mid-April... I am thinking, in and around the islands, it might be after mid-April this year.. Gotta get the landings open too.. Might be able to pull a small boat across shore to reach some open water though..

Time will tell and I will keep ya posted.

thanks JKH, you kept me posted last year too. I appreciate the help. I usually launch out of the sand bay area. Looks like warm weather all next week, i'll keep my fingers crossed!

Looking at the satelite pics looks like Corny area might be ready now!! anyone know??

Landing is still plugged with ice... maybe next week...

Does anyone know if I would be able to Ice fish out from the Onion or soix rivers on Monday? What is the ice like???

thanks for the update Jim, staying at Corny campgrounds this year and just wondering when able to get boat over and try!! wont be much longer I hope!!

Jim, I was just on your site and was looking at the satellite images and it looks like its fishable but are there any landings open, particularly little sand bay? any info would be helpful thanks!
