Deep Cycle Battery?

I just bough a Minn Kota 5olbs thrust Power Drive and was wondering what size battery should I run with it?

a deep cycle... it'll give you the longest battery life and run time with the best recovery time since it's made for discharge & recharge.

if you go to cheap it will drain too fast, a deep cycle is best but not a cranking one just read the sticker

Nothing I dislike more than running out of battery while fishing and the bite is good.

I would purchase the best battery you can afford.

Deep for sure. either a 27 29 or 30 series. 30 is not comman but is out there.

Definitely the best you can buy. Deep cycle for sure. I bought a Trojan 2 yrs. ago on sale for 100 bucks. It is a fantastic battery. Lasts all day w/ my 40 lb Minnkota. And I am on the trolling motor all day. Good luck

A good rule of thumb use to be is buy by weight. More Lead. More capacity.

Look for a deep cycle that has the largest RC rating. The higher the number (100+) the better and longer it will run. RC is the reserve capacity of the battery. You can by a gel battery as well, less weight, longer run time, but it is expensive.
