Just wanted to get a thread going on the river! Went out Sunday and today(Tuesday) with no luck. Did some nymphing(stones, copper johns, x legs) Still spotty fishing with all the ice! Was also wondering if there are any other "fishable" streams this time of year that are worth a drive to from Duluth?

Most people who fish this river, (including me) are tight lipped. I know there is ice locking in most of the river, so I won't be back for a while. There are several rivers in NW WI that might be fishable with the warm weather within the week.

I heard it froze out last year. Some sort of invasive species wiped out pretty much everything else that survived the winter kill too.
