CNY Tim Posted November 18, 2003 Share Posted November 18, 2003 Whatt - I use Shimano Sedona 500's and I honestly never took the covers off em since I only use them for ice fishing. I don't know what lubricant they use it may be that blue stuff but even in the coldest weather there never stiff always silky smooth on the crank. Basically I take off the spool and blast it with Reel Magic, pop the spool back on and I'm good. Important thing to remember is when the ice season is over to loosen up those drags all the way it will keep the drags silky smooth for years to come.
