Lubing the Reel...

Any ideas for Lubrications for the reels.
Is WD40 good for reels?

Shaft?

Bearings?

There is that blue tip-up greas thats not suppose to freez. I got some at FleetFarm a couple of years ago. It seems to work good.

Whatt - I use Shimano Sedona 500's and I honestly never took the covers off em since I only use them for ice fishing. I don't know what lubricant they use it may be that blue stuff but even in the coldest weather there never stiff always silky smooth on the crank. Basically I take off the spool and blast it with Reel Magic, pop the spool back on and I'm good. Important thing to remember is when the ice season is over to loosen up those drags all the way it will keep the drags silky smooth for years to come.
