I have a 2 yo Lowrance H20 and was wondering if the hotmaps chip is compatible and what are the advantages and disadvantages of lakemaster chip vs. hotmaps

It should take the chip. If it is too old it may require a firmware update but I don't think 2 years is that old. I like the lakemaster chip as it has all the roads for the whole state along with the contours on the lakes. If you fish in WI SD ND you may want the NAV chip since it is multi state.

There have been many threads about this, both in the ice fishing forum and the equipment forum. Try searching in the archives and you should find all you need to know.

It'll work, mine is three years old and I have both chips I think the lakemaster is better because it has more lakes on it but if you want LOTW you will need hot maps unless they added it this year.
