How clean is the lake. i have never speared out there before.

I was also reading in the MDAA newsletter that the legislature is working on letting all 22 year old or younger students in college or high school spear without a spearing license over their Christmas break. (I am not sure of the exact dates)

If this passes, or has passed, that period of time may be a great time to have a get-to-gator?

i have a bro-in-law that lives in maple lake. i got him hooked on spearing two years ago and he goes out there often. he sets up in 12 ft of water just off the weed line and sees quite well. he has not ever said the water is dirty. hesays for the most part he sees a fair amount of fish when hes out.

hey not a problem. i figured maple lake is somewhat centrally located, have a get-o-gator and help the dnr all at one time. what more can a guy do!

BNS the second lake could be Nokay lake off of hwy 18 between Mille Lacs and Brainerd it is realy clear and has some really exellent pike in it. I've never speared it but have fished for pannies on it and this year talked with a coule of guys that speared it said it was an exellent lake. just a thought.

ill put that one on the list for a chance to do that. There is alot of lakes out there, so i started a list, and we can figure it out from there. We know where going to do Maple Lake forsure.

bns, maple sounds great, although i thought i would trow it out as an idea but when i seen that sign i just had to bring it up. all we need is a date.

bns, you really didnt have to bring up the fact that we need to wait 4 months before we can look down a spear hole again, did you? feels like eternity right now.

NO that picture makes it worse. need medicine, 12 oz at a time. that spear i have seen being sold at fleet farm.

No, I had the heads cut out and then my dad, brother, a friend of mine and I welded them together and finished them up.

They have been sold, but not at Fleet Farm.

They work great I have never had a fish get off.

I have completely missed a couple though. (Not the spears fault)

I like to call it the 2 finger depth charge.

I hold it over the hole with 2 fingers and drop it.

It goes straight down quick!!!
