Dooley87
just my two cents but i have heard tremdous things about pelican in buffalo for northerns, i was out there once this winter and i talked to an old time spearer out there and he said he spears in 10 feet and could read a newspaper down on the bottom, he also stated that two twenty pound pike had been speared out of the lake already that year and he just got a 13 and his partner just got a 12, also centrally located for people in the st. cloud area or people in the metro. again just my two cents. bassNspear
this might not be a bad lake to put on the list that we are going to draw out of?What does everyone think?
Dooley87
also with the draw down they may open it up to liberalized fishing

bassNspear
3 feet is not a good lake to spear on, thats forsure.
Early Riser
I did spear out there one day last winter and I would say that being able to read the newspaper in 10' is a stretch. I set up in about 9-10' and the bottom is dark. Sunfish were almost impossible to see unless they were tilted on their side feeding or when a light colored jig disappeared into their mouths. I did see a number of northerns which were fairly small. The water was cloudy enough so that I couldn't really see them until they were right in the hole.
