just wondering if anyone knows of any builders or companys out there that are looking for interior designers?

Do you know someone that is an interior designer? With the housing situation the way it is now, this may be a very difficult job to keep right now, especially if one wants to be connected to a builder. I'm guessing most builder have "chopped" this position because times are tough. Sorry to give you bad news, or news that you probably already know.

What situation is this person in?

ya, i understand how hard it is. My fiance has been looking for a new job being she got laid off from her other job.

Commercial is still doing OK. Residential is hurting obviously, but the favorable interest rates are swaying companies into building new or renovating buildings. She may want to look at the bigger companies, RJ Ryan, Kraus Anderson ect.

Setter is right. Some of the general contractors may be able to help. Go to MN Association of General Contractors HSOforum (just google it). I'd look into ones that specialize in design-build. There is a whole list under "membership information", then go to building contractors. There are many companies listed with their profiles. Check out the ones that Setter mentioned also Opus, Ryan Co's, Graham-Penn, Borson, A&P, McGough, etc. and many others. Like I said, look at profiles as some of these contractors are excavators, utilities, and not what your fiance is looking for.

Try contacting the Dept.Of labor & standards,for suggestions and leads,They could help.If I remember right there's a Job board by the entry.Their located by the state DNR offices,but closer to the layfette bridge and across the street.

ya ill have to do that. She has been on the interet all day for the last 2 weeks and still having a hard time finding people that want to hire right now. Man, can the market get any worse.
